We're getting close to everyone

The Amazon Cancer Hospital project is in progress. It has a total area of almost 70,000 m2. The first stage of the project has 15,000 m2 of built-up area and 2,000 m2 reserved specifically for indigenous people. This unit will have chemotherapy services, radiotherapy, research, tumor bank, emergency and radiology rooms with 2 X-ray rooms, 3 ultrasound scans, 1 magnetic resonance device, 1 mammogram and 1 tomography device. It will also house a laboratory of Clinical Analysis with 6 collection rooms and 2 examination rooms, ambulatory with 20 medical practices, surgical center with 4 operating rooms, general hospitalization with 24 beds, pediatric hospitalization with 16 beds, hospitalization for indigenous people with 20 beds and ICU with 8 beds.

It is expected that in the next two years the project will be a reality and more patients in the region will benefit.

Since 2012, Barretos Cancer Hospital has had a unit in Porto Velho, in a temporary area of 1,200 m2 granted by the State Government in Base Hospital. This unit was constructed because 90% of the oncological cases in the state of Rondônia were being sent to Barretos. In the unit patients from Rondônia, Amazonas, Acre, Minas Gerais, Amapá and Mato Grosso as well as the indigenous communities and patients from Bolivia are being assisted.
